The responsibility of protecting the integrity of mega-energy investments has resulted in Oman having a larger role in the united front against cyber attacks. As cloud and mobility help to transform Oman’s business processes, the threat landscape grows in complexity and sophistication.
ITU established whilst 75% of CISOs see security tools as ‘very or extremely effective’, only 50% use them to prevent security breaches. In addition, organisations must compete for staff with up-to-date security skills due to a global shortage of 1 million security professionals.
Due to the release of new cyber attack impact analysis reports, an overwhelming range of applications and strategies, compliance to ISM and ICS cyber standards; companies responsible for safeguarding critical national infrastructure need to examine how they deploy security tools and staff in more detail than before to secure their networks.
